Frig Garden Innovation Project
Three years ago, Olimpum embarked on a project that blends history and agriculture on our 250-acre land in Mahmudiye: Frig Garden.
This name draws inspiration from the Phrygian Valley, where our agricultural land is located, and honors the rich heritage of this ancient civilization. The Phrygians were one of the civilizations that enriched the region with their agriculture and crafts. By combining this historical heritage with modern agricultural techniques and innovation, we aim to revitalize the region.
In this project, we conducted retrospective methodological research comparing the climatic conditions of Mahmudiye with the Siirt region. As a result of soil analyzes, it was decided that the most suitable plant was the Siirt Pistachio. This decision was supported by scientific data and correct fertilization techniques. The success of our fertilizers, combined with the nutrients suitable for the soil’s needs, has taken pistachio cultivation in the region to a new level.
Initially, this seemed like a big risk. However, the fertility and richness of the Phrygian Valley throughout history inspired us. Today, our 3-year-old Siirt Pistachio trees symbolize the meeting of the ancient past of this land with modern agricultural techniques. As we eagerly await our first harvest, we are creating a new agricultural legacy on this historic land.
Frig Garden is not just an agricultural project; It is a journey of innovation where we build the future inspired by the past. It combines the rich cultural heritage left by the Phrygians on these lands with our commitment to nature and science, and revitalizes the region with a sustainable agricultural approach. As harvest time approaches, we look forward to leading the way to the future by once again demonstrating the power of agriculture in this ancient valley.
